You could use a free desktop alternative like LibreOffice and not worry about the expense. You could switch to a free online offering like Google Docs, and not worry about versioning or cost. You could purchase Office 2019 or Office 2022 and have this problem again in about 7-10 years. You could purchase a Microsoft 365 subscription and never worry about having to ask this question again. ![]() Outside of that, there's nothing about how you're describing your use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint that couldn't be covered by any available wordprocessing, spreadsheet, or presentation software. ![]() Additionally, the Microsoft 365 consumer offerings do offer the desktop clients that can be used offline. ![]() Based on your post, the only thing I can really respond with definitively is that Office 2007 went end of life in October 2017 and is no longer supported.
